Finding the cause
The code tells us which system has logged a problem. It doesn’t always say which part has failed, so we test from there before replacing anything.

Common questions
The fault comes and goes. Can you still look at it?+
Yes. Note when it happens: cold or warm engine, at speed, after a long drive. Tell us when you ring. The more detail we have, the easier it is to track down a fault that isn’t showing on the day.
Does a fault code mean a part needs replacing?+
Not always. The same code can have more than one cause, which is why we check before ordering parts.
