Timing Belt & Chain Replacement / TRAMORE

Cambelt and timing chain replacement

Timing belt (cambelt) and timing chain replacement for cars and vans of all makes and models. Ring us if you’re unsure what’s due.

Belt or chain?

An engine has one or the other. A cambelt is rubber and gets changed at set intervals. A timing chain is metal and usually lasts longer, but it can stretch and start to rattle. Which one you have comes down to the engine, so we go by the registration or engine code. On many engines a snapped cambelt does serious damage, so it’s not a job to put off.

What we replace

  • Cambelts (timing belts)
  • Timing chains
  • Tensioners, pulleys and guides
  • Water pumps, where needed

Common questions

When is my cambelt due?+

The manufacturer sets the interval by mileage and age, and it varies from engine to engine. Give us the registration and we’ll check.

I don’t know if the cambelt was ever changed. What should I do?+

If there’s no receipt or service record for it, give us a ring and we’ll talk through whether it’s worth doing now.
